Second Life Site of the Day: Hydro Homes

I’m thinking of redoing my house in Spinach again. This is partly because even though I spent L$600 on the burg I live in, it’s not really all that hot, and I just feel like having more space to slop out in (eh?)

But I know I’m also, like most SL DIY home builders, lazy and unimaginative. I’ll happily explore the odd semicircle but that’s it. So it’s off to find a prefab.

I found Hydro Homes. (This is a SLurl )

Hydro Homes showroom

As soon as I teleported, I knew these guys were good. Their main sales area is a skybox made with their own wares (the Caracal), and it sets the tone: ultra-modern futuristic. Lots of high-contrast materials, pale blue glass, and half- or quarter-circle motifs are the order of the day here.

You too can buy this showroom!

They may not have a rezzer — a nifty dingus that conjures up a copy of the building for you to walk around in — but their displays make up for this with plenty of images and detailed descriptions. They detail the number of prims, the footprint (and thus the minimum plot size required), and generally got me in a buying mood.

The problem, of course, is that all the buildings are designed for flat or mostly-flat sections, and here I am with an eyrie on a steep hillside.
